Impressive to meet the prime minister and president of Malta
Jerry Johansson träffar Maltas president.
A delegation of 50 people from Arvidsjaur recently returned from a trip to Mtarfa, on Malta. The purpose of their visit was twin town exchange and the signing of a Twinning Agreement:
- The program during our stay on Malta was great, says municipal commissioner Jerry Johansson, Arvidsjaur.
The young generation was especially happy to meet Maltese youth. Among the activities were sports, together with the basketball and football teams of Mtarfa. Another thing that everyone will remember from the trip is the long history and rich culture of Malta.
- I find it very impressive that the municipal government of Mtarfa had managed to set up meetings both with the prime minister and the president of Malta, says municipal commissioner Jerry Johansson, who was happy to be named on a stone monument in Mtarfa together with the mayor, Anton Mifsud.
The hopes are that the exchange between the towns will increase tourism, and also to find profitable exchanges between businesses, which will promote the trade, industry and development in both towns:
-We look forward to the delegation that will visit us from Mtarfa in March. We want to repay them for their great generosity and hospitality, says municipal commissioner Jerry Johansson, Arvidsjaur.
