The tourist office

The municipality

The municipaliuty of Arvidsjaur has been active in the development of the local tourism for a long time, partly through expanding the infrastructure but also through daily work. Arvidsjaur’s Touist office handles much of the tourism- and tourism related questions.

Organization

Arvidsjaur’s Tourist office is a part of the Municipal Development Department and has two full time employees, Peter Manner and Erika Forsberg.

The mission

• To collect information about the activities, sales, booking, guiding and representation. The tourist office has 6-7000 visitor each year and answers about 10.000 phone calls and 1.500 brochure orders. Our home page www.polcirkeln.nu has 100-200 visitors a day.

• To stay updated when it comes to trends, development and occurrences in the business. To share this information to concerned parties through meetings, education, internet and other means at our disposal. To work for an active tourism industry.

• To make the activities and information available to members of the community.

• To work as  a body to which a proposed measure is referred for consideration when it comes to tourism and related  subjects.

• To support new businesses in tourism, with practical and theoretical knowledge. To help develop products like packages etc. 

• Car test. Provide information and other service.

• Marketing. Today most of the offensive marketing is done through the Arctic circle project with Arjeplog Municipality as our partner.
